Almost 50, Louella Chapman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist / Psychotherapist.
She earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology from
Antioch University in 1994. She also has a School Counseling Credential from Phillips Graduate Institute.
Louella has had several years of experience as a School Counselor which gave her a solid understanding of child development and family dynamics. She has been in a mixed marriage for more than 15 years and mother to a biracial child.
Prior to getting interested in Psychology, Louella earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics which led her to a career in Programming and Systems Analysis in the corporate environment for about a dozen years. This stint honed her analytical skills and systems-thinking style which she uses as she conceptualizes her cases these days: "Personal history wrapped in (rich and multi-dimensional) CONTEXT". Her background in computers/software serves her well as she practices neurofeedback.
She is President (2009-2010) of the Long Beach-South Bay Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is also a member of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research, the state level organization of CAMFT and a Toastmasters Club.
